1. What on a regular basis fills you with abundant enthusiasm?
-Music! My day begins with it, continues with it and ends with it. It's amazing how you can deeply connect with a sound or how a melody can alter your mood. Be it instrumental or something that's lyrically charged, music is something I use as a tool to spark my creativity as a visual artist.
2. How do your inspirations connect you with nature?
- I adore color!! You will always find rich and saturated hues in all my art. What better inspiration than the world around me? The beautiful deep greens of moss, the striking yellow in sweet little buttercups, the amazing shades of blue from the sky, etc. I find joy in the little things that are often overlooked. I often find myself staring up into the sky and being delighted with the sight of beautiful clouds, the sunrise, sunset in all it's spectacularly, colorful, brilliant glory.
3. When do you feel most empowered?
- After meditating! When I am at my weakest, when I am the most stressed or even if I need to recharge to get myself through the day, I always feel the most empowered after I meditate. Meditation brings clarity to my life. It helps me compartmentalize my day and allows me to better deal with and understand the world around me. It also keeps me physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy.
4. Who have been some of your greatest teachers?
- My baby brother: I have to be honest and say that I didn't really grasp the concept of love until he was born. So, I would have to say that my brother taught me the meaning of love.
- My mother and father: My parents taught and continues to teach me about sacrifice. They do everything in their power to provide for my brother and I. Always placing us first on their priority list despite the consequences.
- Friends: People come in and out of your life for a reason. I can't name any one person in particular that has changed my life or taught me something that is of more value than others. Each one has had a part in my growth, even if my experience was negative, it was something I had to go through to grow and become stronger.
5. What is one thing you can't live without?
-I absolutely cannot live without artistic freedom. Art in all its beautiful forms gives my life meaning. I would be lost if not for my art. It's the one thing that I have, need, want, and that I can totally rely on to bring joy to my life. Art is something that I will always have, and I can count on till the day I die. So many people rely on others for love, happiness, etc... I have my art and it's a really good feeling to know it is always with me and I get to express myself in so many different artist ways.
